ABOUT VAN BUREN BOOKS
Edward P. Ahrens, Jr.:
In addition to his many other accomplishments, Ed published a novel, Already Walks Tomorrow, a romantic sci fi about a love affair restored through cloning; The Perils of Imprudent Writing—How to Watch What You Write and Stay Out of Court (in its second edition), the acclaimed and quintessential source of guidelines and tools for watching what you write, personally and in business, in order to avoid the witness chair in legal disputes; most recently, a compilation of his highly popular “Ed’sitorials” in Ed’sitorials on Mediation—A Curmudgeon’s Wit and Wisdom on the Perils and Pearls of Mediation; as well as many articles, essays and short stories. Ed and his wife, Encarnita, a talented poet in her own right, keep active looking after Katie, their Jack Russell Terrier, and, most important, assuring their five grandchildren are being properly raised!
Van Buren Books: Van Buren Books is an independent publisher that was established in 1996 contemporaneous with the publication of the first edition of The Perils of Imprudent Writing. Our publishing function is to publish our own books and, where we can, to help others fulfill their writing ambitions. Major publishing houses have all but abandoned non-celebrity writers, and, with the advent of electronic and print-on-demand publishing, today’s author faces fewer obstacles in getting his or her book into market.
