WELCOME TO VAN BUREN BOOKS!
We hope you will enjoy and benefit from perusing our site. You
will find many interesting items here, in both nonfiction and
fiction areas. And, if we cannot fill the bill, we will try to
help you find the information you're seeking.
Among many other services Van Buren Books intends to provide, we
will focus initially on the lessons contained in Ed Ahrens' The
Perils of Imprudent Writing-How to Watch What You Write and Stay
Out of Court!, the quintessential source of guidelines and tools
for developing effective and liability free communications in
both your business and personal affairs.
The odyssey of The Perils began several years ago as an article
that quickly struck nerves in the business community throughout
the country. Appearing in several magazines, it was first
published in ACCA Docket, American Corporate Counsel Association's magazine for corporate counsel. These attorneys, as
well as attorneys in outside general practice on both sides of
the courtroom fence, knew very well what we were talking about.
Their interest was in making sure their clients (as well as their
young associates) got the word.
As our site grows and develops, we will include articles and
analyses about mediation. (The principal officer at Van Buren
Books and the author of The Perils is an attorney and a certified
federal and state court mediator in Florida.)
We also will share our knowledge of and experience in
self-publishing.
We look forward to your comments, suggestions, and, yes, your
harshest criticisms. We want nothing less than for this site to
be the best of its kind and one you will visit often.
